IRENE LELIEVELD

Hi, am Irene Lelieveld.

I never stop learning, never stop giving and never stop believing that the difficult is possible and the impossible is always worth attempting.

In a career that has spanned continents, from Zambia through the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. I have grown as a person and a professional, a proud mother of three boys.

I run an innovative  24 hours OFSTED registered child care centre, where we try to accommodate the reality of working parents lives as some parents do not have the luxury of a 9 to 5 lifestyle job in the U.K.

I am an Oxford College qualified life coach with training in Neuro Lingustic programming (NLP) with particular emphasis on the application to coaching and mentoring children and young adults.

I am very passionate about serving people in communities, especially mentoring Afro Women into the awareness of their power and to fulfill divine purpose.

I look forward to to meeting you at the next upcoming event.

FRIDA WAIRIMU ECKELMANN

My name is Frida Wairimu Eckelmann. Married and a mom of three. I was born and raised in Nairobi Kenya as the last born of six children. Since the time when I was in my teens, I always questioned why my tribe of the Agikuyu people abandoned their culture upon conversion into christianity. It never made sense to me.

I've always been a passionate reader and when I was about 10-11 years old, I read the Old Testament in the Bible like teenagers read Harry Potter today. In 2014, this knowledge of the Old Testament proved to be very handy when I read a book written by the first President of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta called Facing Mount Kenya. In that book Kenyatta put to record the Agikuyu culture in an effort to save this knowledge for future generations, for fear that the culture would be forgotten as an aftermath of the spreading christianity. I was struck by the similarities between the Agikuyu culture and the Old Testament especially the religious sacrificial rituals! And that was BEFORE the Bible arrived in Africa!

A spark was ignited in me!

A new passion was born to go after the lost history of my tribe.

As I embarked on this journey of self discovery, I have gained a lot of knowledge in my quest, which is not over yet and I would love to share this knowledge with my fellow Black sisters and help one or the other to awaken to their true greatness.

The knowledge of our glorious past will not only elevate us above the narratives of our oppressors, but it will also help us to arise and take our rightful place without any excuses and without owing any explanations to anyone.

Uwanele - Black Women Alliance is also a created sacred space for us to awaken.

See you there!
